Alcoholic Outburst Not So Awkward On St. Patrick’s Day

Denver, CO – A father’s alcoholic outburst wasn’t so awkward and abusive at a local St. Patrick’s day parade in downtown Denver. Revelers at the VIP tent on Blake St suffered no awkwardness as William Burmingham repeatedly slapped his wife during a heated argument that was drowned out by the traditional Celtic music permeating the festive atmosphere. Mr. Burmingham’s two children, age 5 and 8, could hardly be heard sobbing over the parade announcer introducing the local Irish Heritage’s float gliding by in a shimmering display of green streamers and a large papier-mâché bust of the famous patron saint of Ireland. “I was so worried we might get kicked out of the venue and I would have to run after my husband driving down the street in a drunken rage hopping over the median into oncoming traffic again, but he’s shoved me into the table twice now and nobody has asked us to leave,” William’s wife Cindy said as she forced a weak smile through her glassy reddened eyes. Not a single person turned to the family as William scolded Cindy being a lazy bitch for taking too long getting the children ready for the festival. After three green beers Mr. Burmingham’s long-time friend Jesse Cortez, who accompanied the family to the parade with his son, slurred ,”I usually have to hold Bill back and ask him to calm down but today he can just be himself.”
