Millennials Angry Social Media Isn’t Changing the Government.

The latest Gallup poll shows that Millennials in the U.S. are growing increasingly frustrated that their social media posts aren’t having an effect on their government. According to Facebook Newsroom the social media giant has 2.01 billion monthly active users as of June 30, 2017. Toast with avocado in one hand and a smart phone in the other, Millennials are becoming increasing disillusioned with a government that won’t hand out contraception like candy or make medical emergencies come with less life crushing debt. Mike Jacobs, aged 29, from Seattle, WA, said, “I have a Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and a Snapchat and I’m always making posts about injustices all the time! Healthcare, wealth inequality, and institutionalized racism are real concerns of mine and to show it I post the dankest memes. Why doesn’t the government read them? I wish there was some organized way I could officially let my government know who I want leading us!” Amanda Smith, a teen from Phoenix, AZ and solver of world hunger is now dedicating her weekends to tackle the government notification problem by creating a national computer program to tally smiley faces and angry faces on social media.
