Family Wins Lawsuit, Brings Daughter Back to Life

Long Beach, CA – A family is absolutely ecstatic to have their daughter back after winning a civil lawsuit against the drunk driver that killed the 17 year old teen. On April 1, 2017, Persy, was driving back home from her classes on Carson St when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Carl White traveling south on Lakewood Blvd. Carl abandoned his car after the accident but was apprehended by police a half mile from the accident. Carl’s BAC was 0.05. “This passed year has been a dark time in our life when we lost our beloved daughter to a senseless drunk driver,” Persy’s mother, Demi, said as she hugged a picture of her daughter’s high school graduation. “He nearly left a whole in my heart, but I wasn’t going to let that happen!” They left the courts immediately to Long Beach Medical after the verdict that carried restitution to the victims of $25,000 as well as lawyer and court costs. “I wanted justice, but people kept telling me that the driver has already been convicted and in jail. I wanted more than that! I wanted my sweet daughter back and we finally did it!”
